Well Jim, Peggy and family, I’ve known you one too many years and I will miss you. You are in heaven shining down on us this day. My hope is heaven is everything you expected and more. Our Lord I am sure was standing there with a big Gaelic sign in hand "Cead Mile Failte" (A hundred thousand welcomes)You are now home. We will pray to you for strength and guidance, please keep an eye on us for years to come.
What will St. Paddy’s day be like this year of 2010, it will not be the same. Your presence on TV these past few years as a St. Paddy’s commentator were great, you were always quick with the comebacks and this will be missed. Your generosity, energy/drive and those Irish smiling eyes of Havertown will be surely missed.
My prayers are with all the family members. God Bless.

Dear Peggy and Family,
Be assured of my prayers at this difficult time. Jim was a true and faithful husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many.
I know you realize the blessing you had in sharing life with him, and Peg, you were the "Light of his life." He will continue to be your light as you go through these difficult days. I was honored to know him as a friend to our family and me for many years. Our St. Patrick's Day parade will not be the same without his smiling presence and sense of humor. He will enjoy his birthday with the good St. Patrick this year, and I am sure he will think of you. May God be with you and know you are remembered always.
God bless you.
With love,
Sister

Peggy,
My family and I are sorry for your loss.
Thanks to Jim's organizing the Kilgallen/McHale reunion in 1999, we got to be with our Irish family for the very first time.
Love,

To the Kilgallen Family: I was so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. he was just a really nice guy. I did not know him well, but met him on several occasions. I knew him mainly from the hallowed halls of STM in the early 50's. Later, whenever I had occasion to be in Havertown, I would always go to see Eddie Burke at Burkes Inn, then go around the corner to Kilgallens for a beer or two. Now, they are both gone, sad indeed.I heard Vince Gallagher say that one of Jim's favorite Irish songs was "The Voyage";now;Jim's voyage here is completed, but I am sure he is starting a brand new one up above. Mrs. Kilgallen and family, Please accept my condolences on your loss of a husband, father, grandfather & greatgrandfather. Jim was a fantastic guy, a true gentleman and a great Irishman. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word and made you feel like his best friend. The last time I had the pleasure to speak with him was at Finnegans Wake last winter at the Parade Benefit and I will treasure that moment. He was a dear friend of my father Ed and was warmly remembered by the football players he coached here at Cardinal Dougherty. Please be assured we will have him prayed for here at CD and I certainly will miss seeing his smiling face in the reveiwing stand at the parade. Sincerely, Mike Prendergast, ALumni Relations Coordinator, Cardinal Dougherty High School
